  • Cyclosporine 1,2%

    Hello everybody,
I have GPC and severe sicca syndrome. I was put on cyclosporine 1,2%.

The first time I used it, it didn't hurt much. However, the second time it was very hard. Now, it's hard to even use artificial drops.

Did this happen to any of you too?

Yes it burns - I tried to use it time and again and no luck - kept it in refrigerator - it is supposed to reduce burn

Thank you for your answer... I hope you don't mind my asking some more questions

You said you tried it but it didn't work. How long did you try it and after how long did you (and/or your doctor) establish that it wasn't working?

I could not tolerate the Restasis, I was hypersensitive to it. I had to use Patanol to counteract the side effects. Cyclosporine is not to be stored in the fridge, read the package insert. Have you tried using drops 15 minutes before and 15 minutes after the cyclosporine? This can provide a cushion for the restasis/cyclosporine and make it more easily tolerated.

          Kitty,
thank you so much for the tips! I have no doubts believing that Restasis is not to be stored in the fridge however my preparation (cyclosporine 1,2% in hypotears, custom-made) definitely is. The doc told me so, the pharmacist said it again and the package insert has it written in red letters.

          Thanks again!
