  • Azasite (or equivalent) in the UK very soon

    Hi all,

I saw Mr Dart from Moorfields last week and he said that an opthalmic azithromycin was due to be licensed in the UK imminently..which is very good news.

He couldn't give me a date, and didn't say whether it would be AzaSite or not, but I thought it was worth sharing.

    Will keep everyone posted.

Thanks for sharing that. My man at Moorfields also mentioned azithromycin as being perfect for me but not licensed in UK yet! If you get any more info will you please let me know. Thanks Liz

Do you mean Azasite or equivalent?

I wasn't aware that it was available in Europe yet.

I really must start following pharmacies on Twitter so I know what they are up to.

http://www.osnsupersite.com/view.aspx?rid=65861 Azithromycin 1.5%, topical antibiotic ophthalmic formulation Azyter from Thea Laboratoires. Under enthusiastic promotion. Increased absorption and retention in tissues, I understand, if that's what's wanted. Yes, Azasite.
Maybe see the poll 'has Azasite helped you?' http://www.dryeyezone.com/talk/showt...ghlight=azyter
