  • Got Azasite yesterday, never put it in fridge and just realized it-can I use it?

The package insert says to refrigerate before using and after opening. I picked it up last night from the pharmacy, but didn't open it and didn't refigerate it (I had no idea I was supposed to). Can I use it? The pharmacist only repeated what the label said, but didn't say if it's safe to use or even effective? thanks!

Yes, you can still use it...

In fact both my doc and the pharmacist said *not* to refrigerate it. They said it only needs to be refridgerated while at the pharmacy.

According to the pharmacist it should be discarded after 14 days though. Per my doc that is "old" thinking and he said it's safe to use until gone. (I was applying it to my lid margins only - not in my eye.)

Package insert says to store at 36 to 77 degrees F, so it sounds like normal room temperature is just fine.

None of the times I've been prescribed Azasite, have I refrigerated it.
