Azasite Ordering Problems

Hi everyone,

I live in Canada and I'm trying to get Azasite to treat my blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction.

My ophthalmologist filled out the forms and sent away the request to Health Canada (or whatever the agency is called) but they rejected it.

In other words, my ophthalmologist has given me permission to use it, however I can't get a hold of it.

Can anyone help me somehow? I really want to try Azasite.

p.s. The reason they rejected the request is because:

"There are Therapeutic alternatives on the market including Bacitracin, Erythomycin, and Tetracycline."

For the record, I've used tetracycline (doxycyline) before for 3 months and it had no effect on me.

Why not try the bacitracin or erythromycin first then... if those fail, then based on Health Canada's response, maybe they'll ok the Azasite.
