Area of the eye not covered by scleral lenses?

To those of you who wear scleral lenses, what happens to the corners of the eye not covered by them? Do they hurt/get irritated?

I dont feel any irritation, only sometimes have red, but dont feel anything.

good question, my corners DO actually feel a bit painful - sometimes I add drops still because of this.

Am I interpreting this correctly in that it sounds as though the area under the lens is comfortable and not red? The only issue would be the area where the lens does not cover the eye, the area surrounding the perimeter of the lens? I am very curious because I am in the early process of planning for the sclerals fitting at the Boston Foundation.

Your comments and clarification would be much appreciated.

Yeah Im in the process of getting them too and I wanna know what happens to that part of the eye not protected by the sclerals... I wish they were bigger, so the whole eye felt protected.

Where are you getting them done??

Sometimes I 've in my left eys (the worst) red vessels in the area not covered by the lens and they hurt me a little bit..What can i do to solve?

mmm I guess there is nothing you can do but wait until they invent bigger sclerals, you say youre a patient of them so maybe in one of your check ups you could try asking them about this issue, or e-mail them.
