Sclerals questions

I have been reviewing the few posts about sclera lens. I never heard of them until last weeek when my Dr. recommeded them. I was told insurance does not cover them I would be charged $2,000 for lens and $1,000 for the fitting. I have been suffering pretty severly since Sept. have tried everything. My vison went from 20/25 to 20/100 rapidly. I hope I regain the vison. The only times I seem to see well is when I rinse the eyes with Alcon eye wash, the tears ect. cause blurry vison. So I wanted to ask,are these customary fees, and is it possily the answer.Currenty wearingbandgae contacts, which I can not get in or out. New to contact lens, since I never had any vision problems. Are the sclerallens difficult to get in and out?
