Just want to follow up that I got the PROSE scleral lenses at Weill Cornell; Dr Michelle Lee did the fitting; it took seven months until we got a good fit. My right eye was easy, the third lens she tried worked. My left eye took a lot longer. I would wear it for a month, and then it would make my eye red and start to hurt. She kept modifying the fit and finally we got it. My health insurance plan paid for most of it. I have been wearing them full time or eight months now, and I don't know how I managed without them. I can read, I can drive. My eyes are still dry and I still have to use lubricant drops every hour or so, but I can tolerate sunlight now, I can shop in big box stores, I can look at the computer, go to the movies, drive for 2-3 hours and read without getting blurry vision. I consider the PROSE lenses a success for me! It has given me back my life. I still can't manage air conditioning or dry heated places, but I have a lot more function than I had pre-PROSE.
