  • Scleral lenses after pregnancy/breastfeeding

Are scleral lenses dependent on corneal topography to be fitted, or it doesn't matter because they don't have contact with the cornea? I am pregnant at the time, very dry eyes, and I'm wondering for how long should I wait after breastfeeding my baby to wait for the cornea to settle before pursuing them.

    Thank you in advance!

    cristinalatina,

It would be wise to have a consultation (http://www.bostonsight.org/for-Patie...a-Consultation) so your doctor/cornea specialist can answer that question specific to your case, but I can say that many PROSE treatment patients wear their devices during and after pregnancy and some have been fit post-pregnancy.

Here's a link to PROSE treatment providers so you can find the one closest to you: http://www.bostonsight.org/PROSE-pro.../Find-a-Clinic. Hope that helps!

    Wishing you well,

    Janice
