  • Scleral Lens types - not fitted?

I'm a little confused by a post on a different thread ( http://goo.gl/LVHWpr ) - are there stock scleral lenses that don't have to be custom fit??? I have only heard of the ones that require week+ long travel and fitting.

I was fitted well with a rigid gas permeable scleral lens with a reservoir for saline similar to the custom PROSE lens. The brand was Jupiter. An optometrist who trained at Boston Foundation for Sight fit me with the Jupiter.
Just a couple of years before that another optometrist couldn't fit me properly with the same brand.
The lens cost $300. I moved on to try other things but it was a good fit while I used it.
