  • Warm Compresses & use of scleral lenses to protect eyeballs

I like the concept of warm compresses, along with massaging the eyelids but wonder about massage pressure raising my eyepressure (I've glaucoma), and heat bothering my eyeballs' surface (and yet, the warmer the better to get the meibaumian oil flowing).

Has anyone used scleral lenses mostly for eyelid massages? (I've mild dry eye syndrome.)

I would get your eye doctor to demonstrate a technique for lid massage that they feel is safe.

As regards sclerals - I don't really quite understand what you mean?

Do you mean using scleral lens only for eyelid massage? I don't think that would be a good idea.
As Rebecca told you, it would be nice to talk to your doctor. I was worried about the glaucoma issue too, but he told me that it raises the eye pressure just instantly.

Warm compresses do not work for me, cause the heat stimulates even more the nerves in my cornea. As I have neuropathic pain, it's not a good idea for me.
