Does anyone know how the lenses from http://www.orthok.com/ compare to the ones from boston? It seems like Boston is on top of their game as far as updates and stuff go but I am not sure if that is the case with this place.

Also I asked how long I would need to be there and they said I don't have to be there 10 consecuative days like you do for Boston. So it seems like the process is different and I am wondering if the lenses are different as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Which is it? Is it what you know or who you know? Or is it how well you convey what you know to who you know it to?

Screw it I guess lol. I'm going to Boston in a week and they seem extremely good. If anyone wants to hang out or something that lives up there let me know.

You know neither place can guarantee success. People are a little hesitant to come on a board such as this and give their opinion because it might make a difference in which you choose. You might go to each place without success. Lucy

        Scherals

Lucy, I am contemplating going to Boston to see about scherals, the price is what's holding me back. Can you tell me what you know about them, please?

Rebecca can be of great help to you regarding sclerals, as could Lucy. Please, as you research the Boston Foundation for Sight regarding the sclerals, do look into the possibility of getting financial assistance. There is money available for those in need from BFS.

The last I heard nearly half of insurers are covering the Boston scleral costs.

As a nonprofit, they also have extensive resources to assist patients, including reduced fees, host homes provided by volunteers, even angel flights. They go to great lengths to see that cost does not stand in the way of those who need help getting that help.

In my case the insurance company would not tell BFS if they would cover any portion of the cost until a claim had actually been submitted.

If you are seeking financial assistance from BFS, they will require that you submit a copy or your tax return.
