Scleral Lens

I was lucky enough to see Dr. Greg Germoules today. He fitted me with bandage lens with a slight correction today. I can actually wear my regular glasses without struggling. I had to drive quite a distance but I'm thinking right now that it was worth it. I'll keep you updated. He also measured me for Scleral Lens. If this bandage lens works well for me, I'll contact him for scleral lens at some point.

Update here

I've been wearing the bandage lens for about 3 weeks now with a break the last two days because of an irritation that occurred under my right eye. (scratch, contact lens solution, who knows??!) Today the lens are back in. I'm in the O2OPTIX by Ciba Vision. I have both near and far vision problems so I'm wearing these contacts with a pair of reading glasses over them in the house. Outside I wear a pair of Panoptx progressives over them.

I am finding that the contacts kill the nerve pain I have in my eyes but I haven't been able to wear them for more than 4-5 hours. If I go over that, ..my eyes suffer.

I think it may have something to do with the timing of my Salagen. I'm one of the lucky ones who gets a little moisture in my eyes from taking it. I think there is too much time between my noontime dose and the bedtime dose. And I can't change the medication dosage. Side effects would be too much for me.

I'd also like to mention Dr. Gemoules here. He has been so kind and helpful. He definitely cares about his patients. I received an email asking me how I'm doing with them. How many of my doctor's email me? Don't even get me going there. I felt his email was a sign of a caring doctor.
