  • mucas in sclera lens

    Hello-
I have had scelra lens for 3 months now. They fit great and are helping my eyes tremendously. My only problem is that I have a build up of mucas within the lens to the point I cannot see. I take them out and clean them after I put them in and this still doesn't help. Allergy drops do not help either. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd really love to be able to wear these expensive lens to work, to clean the house..to see...etc.
    Thanks!

Sometimes mucus/debris under the lens is related to fit. It might be helpful to schedule a visit to the doctor late in the day when you've had the lenses in for quite awhile so they can see exactly how the lenses are sitting.

A method some of us use to inhibit mucus under the lens is to fill the 'bowl' with something viscous when you're putting it in - that is, viscous enough to do the job but not viscous enough to blur vision. Refresh Celluvisc is a product some people use for this.
