  • Which solution to fill the lens ?

    Hi,

I'm currently using the Unisol4 (Alcon) but since it's not available in France, I'd like to order Softwear Saline (Ciba Vision), is it possible to use it ?

    http://procare.cibavision.com/lens_c...e_saline.shtml

Does anybody using that ? Otherwise what are you using ?

    Thanks.

Raph can you get Steripods in France? Or order them online from England?

as far as I know, we don't have this product (since scleral lenses are not very popular ) but I will try to order it in UK.

      Thanks.

It's not made for sclerals but I remember Ian mentioning it as a good unit-dose unpreserved saline (you can get 20mL unit doses) available there. I once got some 20mLs from Canada because I hate the wastage from the Unisol 4 bottles and that size was pretty much perfect for rinsing and filling my lenses. That one was not made for ophthalmic use so I don't know if it was properly pH balanced, but it sure was handy for travel & such.

To fill my lenses, I use celluvisc (sensative eyes preservative free). It's a thicker drop, but Dr. Rosenthal from BFS recommended I use this, since I was having too much haziness with the Unisol 4. The celluvisc works great for me.
