  • "plasma coating" on lenses to alleviate fog ?

    What everyone calls fog \ haziness \ mist \ debris \ murkiness \ blur ... which happens when wearing sclerals;

    My doctor suggested I bring him my lenses to coat them with "plasma coating" to alleviate this fog. he says this fog is caused by evaporation of fluid of the outer surface of the lenses.

    Really ? will this coating diminish fog (??)
    Or there are other logical reasons like debris accumulation inside the saline fluid... which will not be affected from just having lenses coated with something...

    (I know celluvisc was suggested to alleviate this fog and to find a better lenses fit)

    Personally, I found it made a huge difference. I once had a pair that were accidentally not plasma treated and they fogged up almost immediately, compared to after treatment.

      Hello,

      I was just fitted by Ken Pullum for sclerals, he mentioned he doesn't think this coating works, because he doesn't believe it stays on the lens, but he did also say I think that he would also try such options if other ones didn't work....

      I'm having 'fog' issues, well it's sort of clouding as it's quite dense!
      just keep swimming...
