At 5 1/2 months post surgery I had a morning where I woke up and eye lid stuck to eye. Doctor told me my eye dried out. 8 months of gel at night with drops throughout the day finally showed some progress -- now my right eye (eye that didn't have lazik) is drying and I've been treating both eyes with gel/drops.

From experience out there, does the dryness improve or regress. I am putting in drops every 2 hours now and have a plug in one eye. Is this just a slow process of what is to come? put in a plug, wait til the other gets bad, put in a plug there, and then what? depressed

I think it is really individual...A year ago I got very dry eyes (between 0-2mm) and it happened during a night-I woke up with no tears. Now-I use drops 2-3 times a day so I know my eyes are getting better.So- you have to believe it will go away one day.I'm telling this sentence to myself standing in front of a mirror each time I feel unhappy because of what had happened to me:-)
