  • Chronic Dry Eye

First off hi to everyone I am new to the forum. 7 years ago I suffered a very nasty caustic soda injury to my eyes. I lost the site in my left eye and it is left looking very nasty after many surgeries, my right eye made to my doctors a full recovery but I get dry eye symptoms in it daily. First off I just talk about my left eye, my eye doctors told me just to use artificial tears in it which I have tried alot and not many work very well. My cornea is completely opaque with no Eplithelium on it so I am gathering that my eye does not create Mucin which is what keeps the tears on the surface of your eye and spreads them better. This means that any artificial tear are not going to work much on me I gather. Are there any drops what contain Mucin?

Are there any mucin drops out there ?

    Thanks
