  • Diquafosol & rebamipide available in Europe

if someone is interested, in Europe all currently available dry eye drugs can be obtained via international pharmacies. At least via that in Vienna, Austria. But there are more inter. pharmacies like in Munich, Germany, etc.

Here is answer from that in Vienna, Kärntner Ring:
    ------------------------------------------------
    We can offer:

    from the USA:

    Restasis 0,05% single eye drops 30 x 0,4ml for Euro 287,65

    From Japan:

    1 x 112x0,35ml single doses Mucosta ophtalmic suspension DU 2% / Ohtsuka – EUR 127,80

    1 x 10x5ml Augentrpf. Diquas Ophtalmic Solution 3% / Santen – EUR 203,90

Lead time is 3 to 4 weeks from USA, 4 to 6 weeks from Japan – at least.

If you want to order we would need a valid prescription.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If someone was in doubt with those pharmacies in Androrra, this one is beyond any doubts. Both Japan drugs are probably better than Restasis. Moreover Mucosta targets different problem - mucin layer. There are some studies available, mainly from Japan, about their effects. Diquas is Japan name for Diquasofol, Mucosta for Rebamipide.

But this information has another, maybe even more important meaning. If some new drug is approved in the future anywhere around the world, it can be probably obtained via those pharmacies easily. Of course with prescription from doctor.

This is great news! I'm probably going to try Diquas but I didn't exactly know where to get it.

"Diquas, which was launched in 2010 by Santen Pharma in Japan, China and other Asian markets, and despite US trials being unsuccessful, is expected to gain approval in the EU early in our forecast period." (http://www.prlog.org/12291179-gmr-da...n-by-2024.html)
