  • Things are better - here's why

You can read below in my signature line link my
complete struggle. I've had symptoms of Dry Eye since
    my retinal surgery in 2001.

My dry eye causes me blurry vision and pain. I
can barely see or even read if I dont treat it
    aggressively.

But, my double vision doctor recommended hot compresses a couple
times of day. So after finding this forum, I ordered a rice
    baggy and some Dwelle.

My doc also said to start a treatment of Azasite, lid scrubs,
and expressing my oil glands. The Azasiite really gave me
a leg up. The junk in my eyes stopped after a week.
I used up the bottle, just a few weeks ago. I also
increased my fish oil per day to two capsules from one.

Well, I've been doing that now for 6 weeks, and my dry
eye has improved 50% at least. Instead of all those
wetting drops, I use the rice baggy 2 - 3 times a day
for 10 minutes. I then do expressing oils and Restasis.
    Thats it!

When I do need something in between, Dwelle works for me
    the best.

I'm crossing my fingers, but so far I'd call this
    a triumph.

So if this encourages someone else, dont stop the
rice baggy or drops. Hang in there, better days are
    ahead.

    Keep up the good fight!
    I know I will.

    Another success here.....
It has been about seven weeks since I first posted and I am much better. I went to the fourth doctor that quickly saw that my dry eye situation was a combination of lack of tears as well as glands blocked. He started me on doxy 100mg 2x a day and restasis. Within a week I started feeling better. Today I not longer need drops...just restasis and doxy. The improvement is amazing....I know if I hadn't been encouraged to get a more definite diagnosis I would still be suffering.

By 'doxy' do you mean doxycycline hydrochloride? I've seen it mentioned on these forums quite a few times. Its weird that its helping you people out because thats what caused me to get dry eyes! WTF
