  • A letter of appreciation from me

I don't think we (collectively) know how lucky we are to have DryEyeZone and Rebecca to keep things up and running. This website costs us nothing. We have the opportunity to order (or not) from the Dry Eye Shop and at least try the latest in dry eye gear. It may (or may not help) but we get to try it if we want.

I've known Rebecca for 10 long years of dry eye "friendship" meeting on another similar website. I can say for certain that Rebecca puts in time and more time keeping this website going that she could ever be paid for with the simple things for sale at the Dry Eye Shop. There has to be meager earnings on the things she sells and this is not advertised widely. Many of these things can be bought elsewhere and it's basically a convenience for all of the dry eyed folks who read the board.

We have people reading this board from all over the world. I see Rebecca often answer a post personally with a long bit of instructions for someone who lives across the globe. I'm writing this because seldom, if ever, does anyone really speak up and say how much is put into this website. How would some of us get along without it? I could because I've been at this so long. I'm still here because I enjoy reading good results and like to help newbies if I can. I also order from the shop when ever I need anything.

So, thanks, Rebecca for all you put into "our" dry eye spot in space! Lucy

P.S. I wrote this originally buried in a thread but thought it should be brought out in a more prominent spot.

I did not proof read the above, so forgive any typos etc. I don't proof anymore unless my life depends on it. Too much eye time.

          That's a first-rate post, Lucy!

I'm in total agreement here, with you and with the previous posters.
Lucy, you and I have "known" each other for nearly ten years online -- having enjoyed one actual in-person meeting at a conference (but what a great weekend that was!)
-- and we each know how vital it is to find a safe space for emotional support as well as collecting the newest possible information about the health of our eyes.

Rebecca is extremely generous (probably to a fault ),
so it helps to be reminded that we-all bulletin board members and DEShop customers may not remember often enough to say a sufficient public or private thank-you to her.

Thank you for all you do to keep this site going.

It means so much to so many.

I wholeheartedly agree...this site has really helped me learn more about my condition. I have learned more here than I have with my doctors!

Thank you Rebecca for all of your hard work and dedication. You are truely appreciated.

A big hug across the oceans!!

Out of desperation and many sleepless nights of surfing on the net, I found DEZ. I wouldn't have survived this debilitating illness if it weren't for Rebecca. She literally reached across the globe to comfort someone like me who's lost, hopeless and very scare. Although I don't visit much now but DEZ has a special place in my heart.

For you, your products and this site, I am eternally grateful. Bless you Rebecca,

                      Luv, Chris

I completely agree - thanks so much Rebecca! This site is an invaluable resource as is the Dry Eye Shop.

Wow - that's my first reaction to this website. It so easy to navigate and well organized. I have Sjorgren's and that site is much more difficult (for me) to navigate. I was just telling my husband how easy it is to access information and how very helpful all of you are. In the several weeks that I've been flitting between the DES and DET, I keep seeing Rebecca's postings and wonder where she finds the time! It's obvious that this is much more than a business for her.

I'm especially impressed to see that folks like Lucy have been helping out newbies like myself for 10 +years! I've discovered there's no way I can spend any time on this site without paper and pencil nearby - so much to learn and try! Just got Dwell and Tranquileyes in the mail today - cross your fingers!

I've only been a member a couple of days and I've gotten more useful information out of this forum than any other source. Rebecca, you've turned a misfortune into a blessing for all of us, so thank you very, very much.

                              Thank you Rebecca!
I live in Estonia - tiny Nordic country next to Finland (ie on the other side of the globe ). And it seems that people here don't have dry eyes... I struggled myself almost 15 yrs before I heard a doc saying the word "dry" about my eyes and that's when I found this site. Simple things like hot compresses have helped me so much - unfortunately no doctor suggested me those. Things have really improved lately. And what is the most important thing - I have your support. I know now that this is a disease like any other, instead of thinking of myself as a freak with vampire-red eyes.
                              Thank you!
