  • There is Hope

I joined the group, quite confused, in severe pain and deserate for help. I had a Dr tell me they may need to sew my eyes shut! My vision declined to 20/300. I could not go into sun light or floresent lighting with out pain.I wore goggles, tranquil eyes, used every moisture drop on the market. The dr suggested sceral lens. I was forced to go on disability due to these horrific dry painful red eyes. When I resigned to living with this condition, I had a turn for the better. What has helped heal me? I'm not sure, but I want to share my new routine.I now take plaquil once a day for sjogrens/arthritis. I take 2 flaxseed supplements aday.I have bandage contact lens in. I quit using all the eye drops and only use Unisol eye wash, exept at bed time I use Tobradex to prevent infection. I take Doxycycillin once a day. My last visit to cornea Dr, I was seeing 20/30!
Today my eyes even looked a little white, which they Never have. I am not sure what did it for me, or even if they will continue to heal. I still live in fear, that I may regress too How i was, but right now I am so much better. So Please don't give up people, we always have hope. Much love & prayers for healing! Jami

Jami, thanks for sharing. I needed this today in that I too have Sjogrens with severe dry eyes. Still praying for relief.

Same with me... I have a vision of 20/200 for exactly a year and everything seems to go worse. Still, it is very nice to learn that somebody who once felt like me is happy and better now. Wish you even much better days Jami.
