  • Success with better treatment of Blepharitis

I'll keep the story short. I had severe dry eye problems over the past year or so. Was prescribed many different antiobiotics, none of which helped me. I eventually realized that I was being way too aggressive with my treatment. I applied too much pressure when doing the lid scrubs, and developed a habit of manually pressing on my lower eyelids throughout the day in hopes of getting relief. My main problem became that, once I stopped messing with my eyelids so much and being more gentle in my scubs, the inflammation decreased dramatically. Now, the dryness is very minimal! So for those of you out there that can't seem to quell inflammation, pay closer attention to your lid scrub routine and contact with your eyelids!

The only big issue I have left is some red veins on the outside corners of my eyes, and I also have red patches in the inside corners of both eyes. Obviously this really bothers me, but doesn't even come close to the pain and discomfort I had before with my poor lid treatment.

Timely post! I just returned from seeing a new specialist and she said "less is more" about a number of things I've been doing, including my 10 minute compresses (she said 3-5 minutes is sufficient, particularly since I may have some ocular rosacea and too much heat can make that worse).

I would definitely agree with this for blepharitis. My eyes have generally been ok for a few days, then I added another massaging step to my eye routine last night - now my eyes feel worse again. Eyes and eyelids are delicate things, need to be treated with care I think
