My last appointment with my dry eye specialist was...interesting.
I was told that my glands have opened significantly, so much so that Lipiflow is no longer a recommendation. She did notice there was still some yellow fluid coming out, but it would go away in time.
At this point, it's the contacts that are the issue. I absolutely refuse to believe I will never wear soft contact lenses again...at least for special occasions. I presented her a list of brands I'd like to try, which she agreed to do as long as I'd tried them one at a time vs. all at once. Unfortunately, she had me try a new brand on a day where my left eye lid was still swollen (she suspects a stye) and I had scratched my right eye when putting drops in before my appointment. Needless to say, it didn't look so good.
This is where I was stunned. She said she was on the fence about LASIK for me. I explained that I took that option of the table years ago, especially given my eye problems at birth (e.g. Nystagmus left eye). She told me that she had LASIK herself and the machines are now more advanced to work with ones nystagmus. Regardless, the thought of having the procedure done gives me anxiety.
So in conclusion, it was good news for my oil glands, but I'm not so sure about everything else. Thoughts?
