  • Good things are happening!

I have switched my drops over to Dwelle & Nutratear & Tears Naturale Preservative free. I have had amazing results the last few days. I have been able to significantly reduce the amount of drops that I have been using. Today in the last 9 hours I have only used 1 drop of dwelle, 1 drop of Nutratear & 1 drop of tears natural in each eye! This is amazing to me as I was using drops every 1-2 hours.

In addition to changing drops I am using flaxseed oil & Omega 3&6 fish oils, I am also using a Homeopathic remedy for dry eyes. The Homeopathic remedy I am using can be found here.

Thanks for sharing this. I wonder which of the remedies is doing the most good; the homeopathic supplement is one that I will try - as I have read that these nutrients have been isolated as very important to eye health. Which Omega 3&6 are you using?

Were these recomended by a Homepath or did you discover them yourself? I'm desperately searching for some relief myself from Dry Eyes but i've wasted so much money on supplements that haven't worked.

I'm sorry to hear that. That must be frustrating not knowing the cause, at least I can blame my decision to have Lasik for my dry eyes. Hang in there. I will try to send some positive energy your way!

Hi acarol - I'm in the UK and have had the same experience - Gp's are generally ill informed ("you may need new glasses") and even eye hospitals seem to be 10yrs behind in their knowledge ("there is not much difference between drops"). I went privately and was still unimpressed by my 'corneal specialist'. My advice? Gen up here and try different management regimes, steer clear of harsh preservatives (yes BAK I'm looking at you) and you might stumble across the one that works for you - good luck!

                      EllMitcho

PS try Dwelle & Dakrina from here if you haven't already - thay are the best drops I have found thus far!
The magic gloop IS out there somewhere - right?

                        Hi Ellmitcho,

Thanks for your reply. I've tried Dwelle & Dakrina - Dwelle i found good, Dakrina i didn't find any benefit from. I'm currently using Celluvisc 4 times a day on the advice of the Eye Doctor i went to see in my local hospital and told to come back in 3 months..... Great!

                          Dia dhuit a charda,

Been a while since school but maybe you can make out the broken Irish

I'm in the States but got my dry eyes from Lasik...darn.

have you read the book by Dr. L. that is for sale in the dry eye shop. It gives great tips on diet, lifestyle etc.

I borrowed mine from the library as everythings seems to add up cost wise.

                          Keep well.

                          B.

                            Off topic Ireland

ACarol, This is a bit off topic, but where in Ireland are you? The reason I ask is that Next February I am going to be taking a year off to travel around the world. I have a 1 way ticket to Dublin as my first stop. I'm pretty excited about the whole ordeal as it has been a life long dream. Perhaps I will write a book about traveling with dry eyes!

I live in Limerick, which is in the mid west of Ireland about a 3 hour drive from Dublin.
Maybe we can meet up and share horror dry eye stories ha ha!!
Seriously though hopefully your eyes will improve so that you can enjoy the trip. Let me know your progress - you seem to be improving, i may purchase those herbal capsules you are taking.
