So I leave for my big trip to Africa in one month. So my eye doc perscribed a basic RX eye drop in case I get any kind of infection. I was emailing with him about my failed lacrisert attempt and asked that he keep posted on new treatments.
I also mentioned to the oil gland probing....and he said....
"I was at a national conference about 2 weeks ago. A couple of people spoke about the probe to open up the oil glands. It sounds like a possibility. Let me get more information and maybe we can try it when you get back."
He may not be a super duper expert on dry eye -- but I really love the fact he's willing to try most anything I suggest. Which is really nice to know -- and pretty darn impressive for an HMO - Kaiser.
