Mawsky. Even though it wasn't me that made that comment, I'll give my 2 cents. it's certain prescription drops that are really hard (or impossible for some) to find without BAK. Theratears do bother me also and i don't know what the ingredient is in them that's a problem for me, but they do not contain BAK.
But I seem to be allergic or sensitive to some things other than preservatives, like Sodium Hydroxide for instance. I can't handle Restasis either and I hear people say it's probably the Castor Oil. I have lots of chemical allergies I test positive for but there aren't tests for everything. I also react badly to the flouresien (sp?) yellow drops used to check IO pressure. I suspect they do have BAK in them, but not sure. But the doctor claims there is no other reliable way to check my Glaucoma. Messes my eyes up for 1-2 months afterward. My daily Glaucoma drops have some BAK too, since the P-free ones we've tried didn't bring the pressure down.
