i once called the company to ask them that question and they said that you do need to produce some tears in order for lacriserts to help you.

Do you have 0 results with or without anesthesia?
I'm post lasik 6 months and have very dry eyes.
My test without anesthesia improved constantly after the procedure up to 22 mm both eyes. BUt my test with anesthesia is 0.

With anesthesia I am a 0 with anesthesia i am a 9.

A question for the lacrisert company would be, "Would good reflex tearing be adequate to the lacriserts to work, if worn during the day?"

Some Lacrisert users who are very dry apply artificial tears to help the inserts dissolve properly.
