  • UK London - volunteers with visual impairment for University optometry school

    http://fightforsight.org.uk/press-re...unteers-needed

Volunteers with visual impairment and/or eye conditions are needed to help the City University of London at the Fight for Sight Clinic (situated at 7-9 Bath Street, London, EC1V 9LF).

The university is looking for regular volunteers to help their third year optometry students for teaching and training purposes, including their exams. This will give the students experience of dealing with people who are visually impaired. All sessions will be supervised by qualified optometrists. If you are free on a Monday then the City University of London would like to invite you to join their visual impairment sessions held at the clinic. The sessions start from Monday 30th September between 1.30 - 3.30pm for 11 weeks (days may be subject to change and you can do as many or as little sessions as you like).

The sessions will then recommence on the 27th January 2014 for eight weeks. The City of University of London will pay £15 for your time and up to £10 travel expenses.

If you are interested in volunteering or for further information please call Ahalya on 0207 040 4326 or the clinic on 0207 040 8338 or email Ahalya.Subramanian.1@city.ac.uk.

University schools of optometry also have free public clinics for training future eye clinicians, see websites, just in case this helps anyone with access and advice.
