I'm starting a petition against prescription charges. I have dry eye, amongst other conditions, and I need multiple prescription medicines, including the dry eye treatments. I know there are lots of other people who are affected by this issue, including other dry eye sufferers, so I started this petition. Please sign it.

I understand where you're coming from. My eyes have been so expensive (severe dry eye + complex vision adds up steeply!). Hate to think how much I've spent over the past few years. Doesn't help that so much of the dry eye stuff isn't on prescription anyway, i.e. eyebag, supplements, etc.
Sorry if you already know about this (I didn't until a few years ago when my mum told me) but are you aware of the pre-payment certificates? Something like £30 for 3 months or £104 for 12 months - that covers all prescriptions you need in that period. Also there's the low income certificate.

I have the 12 month subscription, helps massively since I think within 1 or 2 months I'd already gone over the amount paid for the subscription due to how many different medication I had to add for the after-effects of Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis.So essentially I have been getting my prescriptions free since then for the remaining 10 - 11 months.

Also if you're eligible for ESA income support, you're entitled to free prescriptions and NHS dental care.

If you're on a low income you can also apply for a HC2 exemption, which also entitles you to free prescriptions and NHS dental care.
