Dry Eye doc in the Portland, OR area

Hello,
Sorry to bug you all again about this.......but I'm trying to decide if I should get added insurance coverage in case I want/ need to see a specialist for my lasik dry eyes.

Anyone know any specialists in the area?????

I have Kaiser -- and so my options are limited -- BUT I've been pleased with my opth so far -- he's open to all my suggestions, and has experience with lasik.

But then again, it might be more cost effective to just pay out of pocket if I want to see someone out of network. But any treatment plan or drugs would not be covered -- unless my Kaiser doctor carried out the treatment.

This all sucks..........

I have CIGNA OAP insurance and I can go anywhere without any referral. I would recommend Dr. Mathers at OHSU. He is a corneal specialist and member of editorial board at TEARFILM&OCULAR SURFACE SOCIETY.
Make sure when you make the appointment you won't accept another doctor.
I feel very frustrated about health care in the USA after 30 years of living in Europe where I had no worries at all.

Yeah, he is also one of the LASIK surgeons there at OHSU, where I had mine done. I just don't trust any of them anymore.
