  • Hi, I am new! St. Louis Docs?

    Hi,
I am new and I am so glad to have found this site! My current eye dr. said I have dry eye and "clogged pores." I would like to know if anyone has seen Dr. Ranjan Malhotra in St. Louis or Dr. Qazi (at Pepose) in St. Louis. I have an appt. with both of them. Any other good eye dr. in St. Louis, MO who specialize in dry eye? This is what I am doing to treat my dry eye:
    -Restasis twice a day
-Thera Tears Nutrition Eye vitamins 3 pills a day
-Azasite before bed (anyone using this?)
-over the counter eye drops (Oasis, etc) as needed
-just started oil pulling this week (thanks to this website!)
    -trying warm compress

I cannot wear my contacts at all and my eyes still throb, ache, sting, burn, feel gritty, etc. everyday, even when wearing my glasses. I get headaches from the dry eye too.

Hope everyone gets some relief soon!

Any suggestions would be much appreciated

    Thanks!

    Hi!

Goggles can be helpful... even if you only wear them at home. I find they make a HUGE difference in the comfort of my eyes.

Wiley X's make nice-looking sunglasses - the foam liners completely block all air-movement, yet are discreet enough that most people wouldn't even notice that your sunglasses are a bit unusual.

Good luck! I think you'll find lots of help on this site!

I live in St. Louis, but I am not familiar with either of those doctors. I go to a corneal specialist at the Washington University Eye Center who I think is very good. If you would like to know more you can PM me and I will give you more information about him.

I have been to Pepose before, but I didn't see the doctor you mentioned so I am not sure if he/she is knowledgeable about dry eyes. From my experience the people there are very nice, but they do not know a whole lot about dry eyes.
