  • New to Boston Area

Hi, I have particularly dry eyes as a result of LASIK. I currently use drops frequently throughout the day in addition to Restasis 2x and gel at night. I have recently moved to the Boston area and would like to see a dry eye specialist if possible. I’ve seen some things on here about the Boston Institute for Eyes or something like that, but would like recommendations/experiences in the area. Thanks!

I love Dr. Donald Korb up there for these issues

Dr. Jason Rothman at Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston (www.eyeboston.com) has been treating me since October 2009. He works out of the Boston (Staniford St.) and Beverly Hospital locations. He was recommended by my glaucoma specialist, Dr. Mark Latina in Reading. While I'm still not where I want to be, he has at least tried a broader range of treatments. Good luck!

Lot of good ones in or within easy reach of Boston. I'd also recommend Debbie Jacobs at Boston Foundation for Sight (actually I think technically it's Boston Eye Associates, a practice within BFS, at their Needham facility). Very solid cornea doc, not the type to be swayed by this or that pharmaceutical trend of the hour.

          Boston Eye Docs

Dr Helen Wu at New England Medical center, great with lots of testing and very long waits and Dr Sarkis Soukiasian at Lahey, very knowledgeable in dry eye and helpful but does not do a lot of testing.
