  • Do you have other eye conditions?

I was curious how many of us suffer from other, typically considered unrelated, eye conditions. I'm not talking about ocular rosacea, bleph, MGD, as those are often associated with DES. Do any of you also suffer from one or more of the following? If so, what is the treatment and does the treatment have DES side effects? Does your current DES treatment impact the severity of your other eye condition(s)?

    1. Glaucoma
    2. Retinal detachment
    3. Macular degeneration
    4. Cataracts
    5. Optic Neuritis
    6. Diabetic retinopathy

      vitreous detachment, large "floaters"

the floaters just add to the general eye aggravation, doesn't actually affect the dry eye symptoms

I've had retinal tears in one eye repaired by laser and cataracts in both eyes treated. None of this affected my dry eye one way or the other.

Vitreous detachments, and early macular degeneration.

I have a left cataract, vitreous detachments in both eyes, ocular hypertension and what are thought to be ocular migraines. I am now considered a glaucoma suspect.

I have large floaters that make it difficult to read comfortably at times. I have to blink to make them move so I can see

                  Cataracts plus nerve damage

As a result of neurosurgery on the trigeminal nerve, I have a partially anesthetized eyeball as well as everything else that goes w/DES, as well as EBMD which results in increased corneal pressure intermittently.

I get iritis but episodes are not as severe as they used to be. As I used high potency steroids in my right eye, I developed a cataract. I now have cataract in left eye but that is in early stages - and not steroid induced.

                    Also have conjunctivochalasis.

Consultants do not think there is a link between iritis and dry eye syndrome. My eyes have always been mega sensitive.

Having the whole lot at the same time makes me indescribably miserable.
