  • Will antibiotics help?

hi, I live in the Caribbean (humidity not an issue and have moderate DES with blepharitis. My Opth initially prescibed Tobradex and that helped but after I stopped (one month) the pain & came back. He then put me on Restasis, which I've been taking for a month without much relief. I do the usual lid hygene stuf. I've read that antibiotics may help with this condition. Any suggestions?

    Hi and welcome.

Oral antibiotics (doxycycline and such) and topical (Azasite) are used successfully by a lot of people on these boards. Depends on the case though. Others are able to keep things under good control with lid hygiene and heat treatment, and still others need more advanced treatments.
