  • New and looking for information re: Prose Contacts

I am very greatful I found this webpage. I have Sjogrens/Severe Dry Eyes with Advanced Ocular Surface Disease. I currently wear Sclerel Contact Lenses that were build in Portland, OR. My trouble with them is I have to remove them about every 2 to 3 hours max, clean and put back in. Not an easy task as they are very hard to get in without getting bubbles. I do clean the outside with a q tip to buy a bit more time. They get very tight within about six hours so can no longer wear them. The glare from them is horrific. I am a candidate for the Prose contacts from Boston and looking for the pros and cons. I look forward to any information you can share before I make this decision. Thank you - Tami

I hardly ever have to remove mine during the day; however, I know other PROSE wearers who have to clean off the lenses a few times a day due to protein/mucous buildup. So it depends on the case.

I have never had air bubble issues with PROSE (I have 18.5mm lenses) but I do remember dealing with air bubble problems on insertion occasionally when I had smaller or even fenestrated lenses.

That's not good. Lenses need to be fitted in such a way that they stay comfortable for many hours without tightening, even if they may have to be removed for vision reasons.

    What size are your lenses?
