I live in Sweden and have big problems with my eyes since three years after IPL hair removal with cosmetic surgery. The worst thing to cope with is my severe photophobia. I`m really glad to have found this community. I write more another time. Take care. Hannah

Was the IPL on your face or elsewhere? I'm just curious because I've had IPL but not on my face and I hadn't considered the connection. I was getting Botox (the 11s) and after reading that might have an impact, am going at least 6 months without to see if it will make a difference.

Yes - on my face. I was totally blind for a little while and I have still big problems with both my eyes.

FINALLY!!! After 6+ years I've found someone else who is questioning this connection. I was having IPL done on my face (7X total) to help with my rosacea. My last treatment the woman removed my glasses and did around my eyes. About a week later I suddenly experienced severe pain in both my eyes, photosensitivity. I had an eye exam only 6 months before and she said "you could be a fighter pilot". Now, I have severe dry eye, MGD, ocular rosacea, pain, etc. After seeing they were actually using IPL to "correct" dry eye I figured it couldn't be but now.....???????

Thank you so very much for making me aware of this Hannah. I've been searching the internet but I guess there has not been many others affected here in America. To think they are now performing IPL on lower lashlines for gland disfunction. I pray this will not end up being like lasik has been to others. I was able to read the links this time. Anterior Uveitis?

Just want to point you to a thread I started about the dangers of IPL:

It seems you may have gotten anterior uveitis and iris injury from IPL. I has some simlar symptoms to what you are describing.

I have had IPL with Dr T and here in the UK. All times eye protection was used. In the UK she did the bridge of the nose and pulled skin up to reach some skin area around eyes- but metal eye protection was held tightly in place. It Is VERY DANGEROUS to not wear eye protection.
