  • FreshKote eye drops

I would appreciate hearing from anybody using this Rx medication. How long before you get relief. I've been using it for 1 week now and I notice no improvement. I supplement these drops with a Target brand in preservative-free vials. I had a corneal lesion about 5 weeks ago which has healed, but I'm still suffering from dry eyes. I will be seeing a corneal specialist next week and was wondering if I should try Dwelle instead of FreshKote. Is this something that takes several weeks before noting any improvement? I also have been taking TheraTears nutrition as I saw such great reviews about it. I also started taking this 1 week ago. I heard it takes about 8 weeks before one sees improvement. Any information on FreshKote would be helpful. Thanks so much.

I started Freshkote on 4/27 and will be anxious to hear how you fare. So far I have not noticed any difference and it stings a little when I use it. I have used Restatis twice a day for about six months and have been taking Theratears Nutrition tablets since the beginning of March. I had very high hopes for both Restasis and the Theratears nutrition, but nothing has made any difference. It is very discouraging! I do hope I will see some improvement with the Freshkote as time goes by.

      Hi,
I tried FreshKote briefly (a few days), and felt that it was causing more irritation. All I could figure was that it was the preservatives that were causing the pain. I have since been avoiding anything with preservatives, with the exception of Restasis. I wonder about Dwelle, and now am hoping to try Oasis.
      good luck to you!

I tried Freshkote for a month or so. All I felt was an increased sensation of dryness. My doc thought I might be sensitive to the preservative in it so he told me not to use it anymore.
Every day with DES is like a box of chocolates...You never know what you're going to get.
