New dry eye patient--trouble with swelling!

Hi everyone. I starting getting severe dry eye last summer and am struggling to figure out best way to control it. In addition to the dry eye itself, I get extremely swollen and red around my eyes. Thinking it may be an allergic reaction to the drops, I've tried preservative free drops, but still have same problem. My doc prescribed steriod eye drops to get the inflammation under control, which works great, but the swelling comes back a few days after I stop taking them. Anyone else have this problem? Is this swelling from the dry eye, the drops or what?

In my case I got severe swelling and bloodshot eyes from Gentel Gel. I would suspect allergies. Have you tried saline? F/G
