Hello I am a Male in mid 50s. I have been a sufferer of severe dry eye for approx 9 years. Like so many of you I do not know what started this off and I have searched so hard to find relief and been told there is no cure. My first specialist told me it cant be fixed, just go to the chemist and keep trying eye products until you find the best product to suit you. After a year of no relief I went back to him and he abruptly told me that nothing has changed, no better relief or cures have been found and to get back to the chemist and try a few more. Problem has been so bad that I could no longer continue with my career working in an air conditioned office and had to return to my trade of 20 years previous working in an open environment.
Two or three years later I visited a very committed specialist who takes dry eye care seriously. We tried doxy, drops, warm compressions, various drops and many other things. No improvement. As you will know ones gets very desperate. In time he offered to trial me with auto blood serum drops. This gave me great hope and I perserved with these for towards a year, unfortunatly these did not work for me, but I encourage you to try this as it has proven to be a solution for many people.
Anyway 9 years on.. we got talking about antibiotics again and he (eye specialist) offered to trial me on Tetracycline Ointment which he imports himself, as there is little demand and no medical suppliers are prepared to stock it. I apply this ointment each night before going to sleep. Reasonable results right from the start.. Apparently Tetracycline is an anti inflam as well as an antibiotic. I may be benefiting from anti inflam as need to use is ongoing. I found that some days it was more effective than others and have now put this down to the way I apply it, ensuring it stays in overnight and the quantity applied. Yes it hurts (burns guite badly when applied and for some time after) . I have been using for four to five months now and the results now are SO SO GOOD !!!!!> Like today I have had NO problems at all and it is 9pm. It is easy to forget just how bad things were but it comes back to me when I read of other peoples desperate situations. Tetracycline may not be a cure but it is providing for me the most unbelievable relief !!! .. I can not find any articles of other people using this product - I am very surprised. This will I am convinced, be the solution for many , many of you out there . PLEASE talk to your eye doctor and encourage him/her to research this product. My product comes from Italy and is 1% dosage. Even if you have tried Tetracycline orally I think its got to be worthwhile trialling direct application.
I am so pleased with the results (life changing) that I feel I must spread the word. I dont believe that this will be a solution for me only, and maybe not for you but if it works for only a small percentage of us it would be truly wonderfull.
