Hi guys, i'm new to this forum. I am from the UK. I suffer with dry eye after having Lasek correction surgery 2 years ago.Worst decision of my life. Through the day it is not so bad but every single morning when i wake my eye balls feel like they are being clawed out. I would like to know what the most effective lubricants/treatments have been for you guys. I have had one appointment with an opthalmologist (NHS) who didn't seem very reassuring. In fact she seemed quite annoyed that i had opted for correction surgery in the first place. I am considering going private. Also, have any of you had experience with punctal plugs?
I wash my eyes twice daily and I have kept a diary of the lubricants I have tried so far with notes. see below:
Viscotears - Rubbish
Viscotears preservative free - Works for a couple of hours
Bausch & Lomb Soothe - Works 60% of the time but leaves thick residue in eyes
Hycosan Eye drops - Thin consistency. Only good for use in the day
Lacrilube - Works 60% of the time but leaves thick residue in eyes and irritates with continuous use.
Thanks,
Michael.
