Im a 56 year old Rheumatoid sufferer with dry eyes and corneal melts

Hi. Sorry to hear about your corneal melts situation. I likely have dry eyes from Sjogren's Syndrome (further complicated by excessive use of computers and long drives to work). Several people in this forum, including myself, have experience with sclerals and are also familiar with the top brands/fitters. Has your eye doctor already referred you to a scleral fitter?

Pusseycatt welcome to the forum! There is a section (link) about scleral lenses that could be helpful, too. I hope scleral lenses help you! Lots of people swear by them, especially once they find a good fit.
