    rice baggy works the best!

... at least for me. It is the easiest, least messy, and conforms to your eyes.

Ditto on the rice baggy! It stays warm longer than wet washcloth and molds nicely to your eye area!

        Eye bags

I have an eye bag made by www.eyebagcompany.com.

It's a sort of suade on 1 side and silk on the other. They are not cheap but my mum (who has very severe dry eye) just opened it up when it started to be less effective and replaced the linseed seeds in it and sewed a bit of velcro on it so it can easily be refilled.

I'm a rice baggy fan, but when I was pregnant the smell of hot rice made me sick. I went back to my original method of a small damp baby washcloth and a heating pad. I've just never gone back. It's convenient and I don't have to run downstairs to microwave. Also, there always seems to be an ache or pain on my person that warrants a heating pad...

            Diana,

I think a heating pad is a great idea if you are traveling and do not have access to a microwave. The heating pad would easily fit into a suitcase and sure beats standing over the sink with a warm washcloth.

I'll remember that for my next trip!

I'm so glad I could help! I fold it over and put the crease against my lower lids...thin washcloth in-between.

Don't laugh, but I sometimes use my heated eyelash curler. I leave it closed and press it up against my lash line. I wish I had the resources to make something similar specially designed for lids.

I use a very hot washcloth. For some reason, the hot water that comes out my tap is boiling. I try to make the heat as hot as my face can handle. My eyes always feel so much better after that.

Since my last post, I have discovered that doing the hot as I can handle routine made me eyes actually alot worse. I recommend warm, it's much more soothing.

                      Warm washcloth AND

I use a warm, damp washcloth and wrap it around a cordless heatpack (like the kind with the sodium liquid stuff, same that the non-microwaveable thermoeyes pads have). I found the thermoeyes don't stay warm long at all, so I have things that look like giant versions of those, and it's soooo relaxing as well!

I know this method is unusual - but i love to steam my eyes Just a bowl/jug of boiling water and a towel and cover your face and bowl making a kind of funnel with the towel and let the steam rise onto or into your eyes - very soothing i find

Stella, you have suggested this in other posts, and I tried it. It worked great! I use it on nights when I just cannot get my eyes to "settle down." I really appreciate your tip!

                              Wash Cloth And Rice Bag

I use a very warm wash cloth with rice bag on top. This keeps the washcloth nice and warm for a long time, and the moisture seems to help my eyes more than dry heat. I put the rice bag in a plastic bag to keep it dry. Otherwise, I think the rice would get damp and ruined.
