Hi, I would like feedback from patients who either 1-have been diagnosed with ocular rosacia and/or 2-have done this procedure. I just had my 3rd treatment out of 4 prescribed from my dry-eye doc, each treatment is 2 weeks apart. (13 jewels on nose/cheeks, 12 or 13 on eyes.) I do notice less eye discharge and some lessening of rosacia redness, but it is too early to be sure if this is worth the discomfort of the treatment.
The doctor will follow up with a Lipiflow, also 2 weeks after the 4th IPL. The plan here is that the IPLs will reduce the inflammation associated with ocular rosacia before doing a Lipiflow; and this makes good sense to me, since I also have Map-dot dystrophy on my corneas, which first Lipiflow esasperated RCES I was experiencing at the time--it was a painful 3 weeks until my MB oils returned.
I was glad when I learned that my dry-eye doc was now doing IPLs, as I did not yet have a confirmation that I suffer from ocular rosacia until he did the Lipiview and confirmed this. I was not willing to go to a spa setting for an IPL, since I would get treated for my ocular rosacia, not for facial rosacia (I have a "mild" case of facial rosacia).
Thanks for any input!
