Hi, I’m a new patient. I have mild dry eye. My eyes only bother me about four times a day. My wife, however, has severe dry eye and has tried many many drops and is now thinking of punctal plugs . I’m a little worried about these and she is too. Has anyone had any experiences with These?
I use thealoz duo Drops to control my dry eye. They seem to work quite well for me.
My wife uses tear gel in the evening and twice a day uses Xiidra with a Bruder mask. For drops, she uses the same thing as me and hydrasense drops.
I worry about her constantly going to the eye doctor because the eye doctor never seem satisfied with how she’s doing. She doesn’t complain that much about her condition, but I noticed this eye doctor is constantly having her come in and have her eyes looked at for dry eye. I wonder if it’s really necessary.
I know from reading your stories here that it is a very serious condition but monthly trips to the eye doctor for a couple hundred bucks each time seems a bit excessive. I don’t know maybe somebody else can fill me in.
i guess what’s prompting my questions is she went to an ophthalmologist and he said her eyes looked pretty good. They didn’t look too dry at all so I’m really wondering what the optometrist is seeing that the ophthalmologist didn’t see.
Like I say maybe you guys have a better opinion than me but don’t these drops take a while to work, should she be changing them monthly?
