I'm a male in my 30s who has experienced dry eyes after Lasik.
I'm 18 months post op and I have 20/20 vision.
My condition has improved a lot over the 18 months. The first 6 weeks were awful!!!
Yes, I'm angry that my lasik surgeon never discussed the chance, however small, of developing permanent dry eye syndrome.
My condition had improved quite a bit after 12 months. My eyes used to be so dry that they'd "peel" open in the morning when I'd wake up. They're not that dry anymore.
At 15 months, I decided to get checked out at the Jules Stein Eye Center. I was put on Restasis and BioTears supplements. My eyes still look a bit red sometimes. But my condition seems to be improving. Now, there are times when I can't feel the dryness. Now it's intermittent; only flaring up from time to time. So far so good.
If things change, for better or worse, I'll post about it.
