I use Dwelle every four hours from the time I wake up until about an hour before I go to bed, and that averages about 4 times a day.

      hi,

i don't use drops anymore at all. the relief only lasts for a couple of seconds and i have the feeling it flushes away the very tiny bit of oil still left in my tearfilm. using eyedrops can also possibly slow down the body's ability to produce its own tears. seems nobody is a 100% sure about that.

          eye drops

          hi

          the frequency varies tremendously
i have 3 plugs and on some days i just need drops once or twice a day.
other days, the plugs don't seem to help at all and i use them every 10 or 15 minutes.
usually i use bion tears but recently by OD suggested trying oasis tears plus so now i tend to alternate between oasis and bion tears.
          thanks, betty

            2 many! lol

I use artificial tears (systane) about 4-6 times a day or sometimes up to 2 vials a day on bad days.

            Pataday once a day.

            Restasis twice a day.

Started flarex as needed - on bad allergy days

I have to use genteal gel many, many times per day. I go through a tube of genteal gel every 2-3 days now. It doesn't usually make my eyes actually feel much better, but I am really forced to use it this often or I know I will get a corneal ulcer.

                Also depends on the day

When my allergies are bad, I'm using them all the time to wash out the allergens and cool off my eye (I usually have them chilled in the fridge) so I don't claw them out! I always use the individual PF vials. I like theratears and bion tears. I use Theratears gel before bed and that's it for the night. First thing in the morning, I use one drop of Pataday in each eye.

I’m currently going through approximately 5 refresh plus and 5 celluvisc vials a day. So I’m guessing about 10 drops per vial so 100 drops per day? I go through two 15 dollar, 30 vial box per week. Eighty percent of that is for the left eye only, which can go through a whole refresh plus vial in less than 2 minutes without spillage…I desperately need plugs

Don't want to imagine drier eye than now...

I use Sochlor drops 4x daily (not as lubricant, for EBMD, increased corneal pressure) and Sochlor gel at nite, was using thera tears every 2 hrs after Sochlor. Now am going to try Oasis Plus in place of thera tears. Am hoping it helps alot since feel like using lubricant drops every half hr now, despite also wearing 7eye airshield glasses all waking hours... After lower punctal plug removal, my bone dry eye is now sawdust.

                      Hourly and more as needed.
My corneal specialist "prescribed" drops every hour followed by closing my eyes for 2 minutes after administration. I use serum drops (50%) so I don't know if that contributes to drop overuse problems or not. Prior to getting serum drops I had a problem with corneal abrasions; regular administration of serum drops has helped with healing.

When my serum drops aren't available (on the go although if I'm out all day, I use a Thermos & take my serum drops with me), I use preservative-free drops, generally Refresh Plus, preservative-free because I can buy them in bulk at Costco but I also like Refresh Optiv, preservative-free and Bion, preservative-free. I've tried other brands but those are the ones I like the best. At night, I use Refresh Celluvisc, preservative-free. I've found the ointments with mineral oil irritate my eyes and lids too much to use unless nothing else is available or in the winter when I actually use the ointments during the day.

Just came accross preservative free, Hycosan-plus and they claim to have an ingredient which repairs the cornea!.
They are next on my hit-list, and the manfacturer advises, use them as often as you want, i use one of the hyco san family, and they boast that "as there is no phospate or preservative, there will be no-blurring or irritaion" which i have found (after 4 months of use) to be true.
The vaccum release container some users complain of, but i prefer it, and it lasts (preservative free)for 6 months, with No wastage..
As for the poll itself, i'm sure other factors come into play, like climate, quality of night sleep, daily diet etc, so no set figuire, average 5x. (one of which is last thing at night and one as soon as i awake)... Never more than once every 2x hours though..

I use serum tears 8 X daily. Sometimes not that often.
Restatis I was using 2X daily, up to 4 X daily after reading that helped some people
                          Mucomyst 4X daily
Muro 128 2-4 X daily. I am not suppose to use this with mucomyst, but I was not told why, so I use it when I feel like I have lots of filaments in my eyes.
                          FML ointment at night
                          Muro 128 ointment at night.

I find that if my eyes feel okay I am less likely to use my drops on a regular basis; I have a data table to fill out to keep track of how often I use my drops. Then my eyes seem to feel worse because I did not put in all my drops or take my fish oil or something.

Before going on the serum I was sometimes using Refresh Plus, preservative-free drops as often as every 5-15 minutes. But I often found that I felt like I was washing all of the good stuff out and my eyes just continued to feel dry. I have tried other stuff that made my eyes redder and hurt more. I am also on antibiotics and supplements.

I'm currently 11 months post lasik. I'm still using sustain ultra pf drops at minimum every hour or two. I use a sustain gel at night and keep the bottle on my bed side table so I can put a drop or two in during the night. I work for a manufacturing plant witch irritates my eyes and I have to wear moisture glasses.
