Did punctum plugs give you more tears? If so, please reply and tell us if those were comfortable tears or not. When I was double plugged in one eye, I had more tears but they were not comfortable tears. I have noticed no additional tears being single plugged in each eye.

plug vote
Just to make a comment on my vote...when I was double plugged with punctal plugs, I had very good increase in the amount of tears. However, the upper right plug wouldn't stay in, so after three-four trials of rt. upper punctal plugs (increasing the size each time), the doctor decided to put in a Smart Plug. Honestly, it hasn't seemed to yield the same result. Yet, we still don't know whether it's reduced tears or not b/c I seem to have developed clogged meibomian glands again. The option of lacriserts is still available if I need them in the right eye. I wish I knew why the upper punctal seemed to give me the right amt of tears, but the SP didn't. The doctor said that he thinks I just got dryer b/c when he applied pressure, there was no evidence of "leakage." The journey of dry eye is ongoing, isn't it?

More tears, but...
Kitty,
My single plug gave me more tears, but the plug was so uncomfortable for the entire 6 mos I had it in place, I finally had it removed. By the time I did, it out right hurt. It constantly scraped the eye. My eye is much drier now, and that is very uncomfortable. I have started wearing Panoptyx glasses w/airshield, and they have helped my eyes feel much more comfortable than they've ever been since I started having all these medical problems with my eyes.
