How old do you have to be to get punctal plugs?

I am 14 years old with severe dry eyes due to a medication.

I am thinking of asking my doctor about plugs because the pain is killing me and artificial tears don't do much.

I don't know why there would be any age limit. Punctal plug insertion is technically considered a surgical procedure if I remember right so presumably there would have to be parental consent. Sounds like they would be well worth trying in your circumstances. You might want to look into some of the temporary types - the dissolving 3 or 6 month ones.
