  • Feeling Incredibly low today

    hi guys

I have suffered with dry eyes for 7 to 8 years or so and its been a long struggle, over the past few years my eyes been ok, but the last few months or so its been hell, I used to clean my eyes daily and also massage my eyes to get the oil moving however this seems to have irritated my eyes so badly that when I do this I scratch my eye, and I even ended up in A and E thru the pain.

So I have to stop massaging my eyes and now all my symptoms have returned it feels like I am back at square one where I was 7 years ago.

I have been to my dr who frankly doesn't care, I have also been to the hospital who provided me with a bit of service but ultimately have bigger fish to try.

I am now left with seemingly no where to turn, I have no idea what to do next, I am going to see an guy who deals with dry eye locally where I live but he can only help so much.

I am tempted to pay to go private and see if I can find a resolution to my hell, as I cant even work properly due to my symptoms. I have a horrible chalzion under my eye which I showed my dr who just said what would u like me to do ?

I have been told to maybe go see a dermatologist about this, and also see if they can help

Does anyone else feel like this ?

Surprised to not see any replies to your post JJ. Anyway I thought I would spare a moment to reply to you.

Yes doctors can be frustrating. I see their role in a different light now. Rather the person you go to, to get the permission to see a specialist. As they offer me nothing. I was told when I had massive anxiety about my ability to continue working that 'sometimes in life if a job isn't suited for us we have to look for a role which does'. I work with screens. I knew from this moment that I was on a losing ticket from my local doctor.

Anyway, it is tricky to know what to do next. We sound in very similar positions. I too am considering private.

Yes that is a risk but I guess when the options are reduced in terms of local doctors etc that private could be an avenue to explore.

I did laugh at the similarity of our posts. I too also have a chalzion on my eye albeit mine is very minor. It sounds like yours is much worse. Your doctors reply was typical.

Anyway, keep us posted of your progress. And stay strong!

    Best regards.
