  • Eye Pain

Hi. I have posted here a few times and got some great advice and support. I am waiting to the the eye doctor have seen my gp and optician and I finally being referred. My eye has been good recently until today and it has really began to worry me and I have worked myself into a rate state which is not helping.

I am worried because I can get eye pain, mainly on the op of my eye and worsens with blinking and then I get the headaches. This worries me as this does not seem to be a symptom of dry eye, I did goole this but I wish I hadnt!

I know I need to wait to see the eye doctor but help but worry.

Thanks for listening, sorry just feel really down today.

    Sympathy

    Hi Ander

I can really sympathise. The only thing stopping me from melting down is the patience of my lovely wife and my faith in Jesus. What I find helps is going to sleep listening to tranquil music or Christian CD's.

The thing is (especially at night) is to stop thinking about it, and focus on other things - especially sleeping!

Keep going - your going to be ok. Your doctor will have some answers. Unfortunately there is no cure - just good management.

If you live in UK go to http://www.matheson-optometrists.com/
This is an optometrist who is a specialist in Dry-Eye problems.

    All the best.

If you are really worried and live in UK you can present yourself at your local casualty (emmergency room)day or night - You may have to wait but they will HAVE to get an eye Dr to examine you and he will certainly be able to tell you if it is serious - so will a good optometrist/optician
So - dont worry - there is always help if you need it
Maybe just knowing that will calm you down a bit
Anything to do with your eyes makes you panic and all sorts of things go through your head--- The "what if " questions.
      We all understand
I too rely heavily on my husband and Jesus - nobody else listens
You will be OK - Keep us posted

Best of luck to all of you. I also found comfort in prayer, faith and my husband when my eyes were unmanageable and my anxiety was taking over. I also did eye-friendly things to keep myself distracted from my pain. One was listening to audio books. I generally did this at night with my husband. It was time well-spent with him and I always chose stories wisely.

Keep the faith and know you'll find a better place eventually.

          Thank you

Thank you all for the replies it gives me great comfort. Another member (also very helpful) suggested going to Emergancy at the hospital but I feel that they would be angry as there are worse off people than me (if that makes sense).

Plus if I am honest I am also worried at what they may find, espeically with the eye pain.

Thanks again, I will keep you posted.

As Stella suggested, maybe just knowing that help is available will be some comfort to you. I'm so sorry it is so difficult to see a specialist when need be.
